Clinical Risk Management Services For Your Clients

Our Clinical Risk Management Consultants leverage their countrywide experience with client hospitals to assist in their efforts to improve patient satisfaction and reduce hospital-acquired conditions, readmissions, and costs associated with professional liability exposures across the entire continuum of care.  We strive to understand your clients' unique objectives and work with you to design a service solution that meets their needs, while being respectful of any internal clinical risk management resources your brokerage may offer to clients.

Based on identified needs, services for BerkleyMed lead clients may include:

Risk and Patient Safety Reviews
The need for a Focused Risk and Patient Safety Review can arise from a client's organizational needs, risk management goals and objectives, or previous adverse events.  Reviews can be conducted on specific departments or processes that encompass several departments of the organization.

During the review a Clinical Risk Management Consultant will focus on identifying areas of vulnerability and recommending best practices to improve patient safety.  The consultant will visit the client's facility to review internal documents and medical records, interview key staff members, and tour the facility.  A report and recommendations, written from a risk management perspective, is provided following the assessment.

Educational and Networking Opportunities
Our Clinical Risk Management Consultants are available to provide education presentations as follow-up to an on-site assessment recommendation or to address specific organizational needs.

We also encourage lead clients to attend BerkleyMed's Brown Bag Discussion Series webinars and other educational events.  These educational events are open to all lead clients and offer an opportunity to network with other BerkleyMed lead clients and participate in open discussions as our Client Service Team members share their experiences on risk mitigation "hot topics."

Year Round Support Services
Throughout the policy year, your clients will have access to dedicated Clinical Risk Management Consultants for assistance with:

  • Consultations and support regarding specific cases and complex complaints
  • Access to resources necessary for researching specific issues and opinion papers that offer external opinions on issues by citing references, industry standards of care, and other evidence based information
